Today was my last day at work.
It was a little touching but a low-key affair.
I received my testimonial as well as gifts frm a few other pple.
I also received handshakes of appreciation but a pity tt it's not a golden handshake haha.
Me a money-minded girl.
Among the gifts was a Parker pen and according to mum, it is supposedly a professional as well as an expensive pen.
So im really thankful for tt.
Besides im a person of giving, not taking so i wouldnt mind if i got very few gifts.
To sum it up, my six months of work at NTUC was a very low-key one but still with a work attitude tt's enough to make someone happy.
Im know myself tt i've been efficient during the course of work and tt's wat im happy about.
At least i've gained the experience and also added one more thing to my resume.
I've never dreamt tt i would work for a whole 6 months which equates to half a year!
I remember i once told myself tt i would quit after a few days whe i first started out by packing boxes which was a torture!
Six months have passed by too quickly.
Another 2 more months and it will be my first step into adulthood.
I feel i've aged too fast but my body hasnt.

This June holidays, i've decided to run to keep me in shape for the new school year.
I've also decided to take up volunteer work at a zoo or some animal welfare organisation such as ACRES.
I also plan to look up new recipes on the web and try cooking them on my own.
I also plan to do some marketing for my family and we can all sit down for a home-cooked dinner once in a while.
The GSS is here, everybody dont forget.
There's also the PC Show to look forward to and i will maybe buy some gadgets for myself.

I received my NUS offer last Wed.
They offered me Real Estate.
I wont be accepting this course becoz the modules dont suit me at all.
So i guess i will stick to NTU's offer for the time being until the results for appeal to FASS are out.
This will be my final test.
This test will show my fate.
Right now, i can only picture images of the School of Biological Sciences as being very new and totally 'glassy'.
I can only take pride in the fact tt it is a new building and it also has a famous canteen which is being catered by CJS, a caterer tt my mum strongly recommends.
I hope to make new friends EASILY and i really really hope to find friends that are similar to the friends i had in jc.
I've realised myself tt university isnt all about its ranking or the prestige tt it holds.
It's only about the relevancy of the course as well as the direct honours programme tt comes with it.
Another thing, my family is depending on me to 'save' them frm the hectic lifestyle of Singapore haha.
To America, to Europe, to Australia...
That's their dream and their biggest hope is that i would be able to secure a job overseas so tt it will be easier for me to apply for PR or even a citizenship.
However i'm not sure myself whether im cut out for this course as i've no confidence in undertaking chemistry and biology again.
But i will try to do my best and the good thing is tt uni only has modules, which i hope tt i will be able to cope better with.
My only biggest worry is tt the friends tt are too dear to me will soon drift away frm me due to distance and busyness that uni life brings.
This is my biggest worry...

Last Mon on Vesak Day, i finally bought myself a new hp!

I have to say, many thanks to sis who is a faithful subscriber of starhub and thus this loyalty voucher.
Pls dun hate me if i said tt i was the one using the vouchie instead of sis coz this vouchie expires in June, in which my sis wont be back by then.
But still in the end, i need to fork out an additional $198 to round up the whole cost of the phone so u can guess how much the phone is.
I hope to see you all again with my new phone and make you all drool with jealousy, not envy.

I know tt these few weeks, the youths of Singapore were waiting anxiously for their letters frm the respective unis.
And yes, i have to admit tt period was really a trying time for some of us.
I have received news so far dont worry.
First is frm NTU's School of Biological Science which is my last choice HAHAHA!!!
But tt's ok for me coz this course also have good job prospects.
And then second is frm NUS FASS calling me down for an interview which i took last friday.
The interview was pretty relaxed but i had to wait almost an hour for my turn.
It was wayyyy behind schedule and the thing is, i was the last person before lunchbreak.
So i dunno whether it's a good or bad thing.
NUS's letter still hasnt arrived and yea, NUS is realllllyyy slow, even pple wif good results still havent received!
And just now, i just received SMU's letter of rejection which i'm perfectly fine with.
I dont even care 2 hoots abt SMU although i would like its sprawling grounds and conducive environment.
But what can i say?
One cant have the best of both worlds.
The conclusion is i will wait for news frm NUS FASS before accepting NTU's.
...
At least i can take a break at last!
I will be quitting work at the end of May!
After which, in the month of June, i will probably go for ARES' volunteer programmes or maybe take up another job at the zoo or ikea.

Hi good morning!
Im quite in high spirits today coz im anticipating something.
Im actually waiting for a book called "Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini, the same author for "The Kite Runner".
Haha, i cant wait for jojo to quickly come to work later on and pass it to me!
Yay!!!
It's reading marathon time!
The book cost $18.14 frm Kinokuniya, which is much cheaper than Popular.
Now you know where to find the cheap stuff?

These days, i've been going on a movie marathon (not in a cinema of course, im too poor) .
"Doomsday", "Horton Hears A Who", "Diary of the Dead", "Teeth" and "National Treasure: Book Of Secrets" ...
These are all really great movies, really.
Doomsday was a little shitty, but made in a same fashion as tt of zombie movies, except tt the pple aint zombies, but "killers" which had been earlier on infected by the "Reaper" virus.
Pretty much gory stuff such as decapitation, being cooked alive, cannibalism etc.
Haha, but dont worry, u all can still stomach these gruesome scenes, coz after awhile the novelty wears off on you.
So yeah, this is pretty much abt it.
Tonight, i'll be watching "Anamorph".

Hi morning!
I quite enjoyed my trip down to Ikea yesterday wif my relatives!
And tt's all due to the love for wood and furniture!
And i was super enthusiastic in helping them to pick out furniture they wanted.
Haha, tt's all becoz of the love for wood and furniture!
And after tt, i willingly helped to look for their items downstairs at the warehouse and tirelessly helped to load their things onto the trolley as well as into the car.
Again, all for the sake and love for wood and furniture!
And although it was late in the night like around 10pm, i still got on down to work and fixed their newly-purchased furniture until i finally finished at close to midnight.
All for wood and furniture still!
And i still kept urging grandpa and grandma to go and slp while i alone helped to fix their furniture but they didnt want to leave me alone?
Wood and furniture rules in my heart!
And i din want to go home and bathe once and for all?
Wood and furniture are too dear to me!
Hahaa okok...

So that sums it all up.
I know wat i want to do in life.
And tt is to work in Ikea and be the furniture fixer for pple for a fee.
See, girl power again!

I went to slp after fixing the furniture happy and restless.
I couldnt slp so i came to work this morning tired, not becoz i stayed up late to fix furniture, but i was too feeling happy for i dunno-wat-reason.
Maybe i was happy tt i've done a good deed or tt i was doing something i like most or tt i've achieved my goal of completing the fixing in a night.
All i know is that when i come to work today, i will be expecting sth tt will make me happy again.
But i cant pinpoint wat.

Hi!That's me standing between 2 tall rocks at The Pinnacles desert in Nambung National Park!
Haha, very nice place wif a lot of rocks jutting out frm the sand.
And going by my geog knowledge, i presume tt these rocks originated due to the lowering of the land.
Haha ok enuff of tt.

Today i went for facial, this time the beautician was more wanting to take out the 'heads' on my face haha.
Then after tt, i went to Dover Park Hospice to visit my great grand uncle since he's my father's grand uncle so i guess i shd call him tt haha.
He's 90-sth and suffering frm a relapse of his colon cancer and the cancer has already spread to his brain.
But he looks as though he's without pain and he's kind of cute to me, the way he grabs hands like a baby would but tt's because his eyesight is failing.
Mum told me he used to tease my sis' name by calling her 'Calendar'.
Haha he really has a good sense of humour, even me didnt think of tt.
So sis, do u rmb him?
I dont.

I think i dont feel like posting pics of my trip here coz i guess nobody would be interested to know and moreover i dont think i can wait tt long for the pics to finish uploading on blogger.
So i will just describe the whole trip in a brief way.
Well, the whole trip was very interesting and it was the 1st time i get to plan the itinerary as well as being the camera woman.
It was also the 1st time i ever explored a place tt is supposedly haunted and tt is the Fremantle Prison.
Me, sis and Seba undertook the 'Torchlight Tour' which is AU$21 per adult and i have to say im a little disappointed wif it coz i din catch anything unusual except for numerous orbs tt appeared in the photos.
But these orbs could be dust orbs not ghost orbs, this fact is quite hard to ascertain.
But i liked tt eerie feeling, the cold windy atmosphere and the lack of security u feel when u enter the prison complex.
I even bought a replica of a prison key, the kind of old-fashioned, metal, heavy , tinkling kind of keys.
All in all, the weather was cool wif mornings being cold and the transport system excellent.
There's free bus service around the city area and i strongly feel sg shd adopt this kind of service, esp around the cbd area as well as the suntec and orchard road area.
Haha, tt would free up the traffic jams tt always fill up the orchard road area.
Now, why didnt the govt think of that in the first place?
There's no use for ERPs, the cars will still keep coming.
Haiz, im lamenting the short-sightedness of the govt and it's no wonder my parents are thinking of migrating to aussie.
Pathetic haha.

Ok the sky is bluer and there's so few clouds!
It's one of the rare events tt we can hardly catch in sg.
But then, it's a bad thing coz it would mean tt it will be a hot day since there's no cloud cover to block the sun.
Haha, im a little of a nature freak and im now trying hard to appreciate the beauty of sg.
Well i feel tt the beauty of sg can only be seen when u travel down to the 'ang moh' places only.
