such a big picture!
haha!
yea as you can see, i bought 3 tickets for the Kop seats at the National Stadium.
one for my brother as a belated birthday present and the other 2 for my cousin and his dad, on behalf of the mum.
all 3 are crazy liverpool fans haha!
so yea, i was like rushing to Toa Payoh Courts close to 11am so as to avoid the working crowd during lunch hour.
luckily there were Kop seats tickets still available and i saw that the Grandstand Lower tickets were sold out though they were the same price as the Kop seats.
maybe it's because the Grandstand Lower is closer to the players, managers, VIPs, substitute benches...
i dunno why, but when i saw the news about the ticketing prices, i thought i had to get one for my brother.
i guess i just can't help being too generous haha.
fyi, i'm a manchester united supporter.
not a fanatic one... but just an observer, secretly supporting the team, though i would love for the team to come to singapore.
so hurry!
get the tickets while you can!
the tickets are predicted to sell out during the weekends!

good news!
today is the day i finally completed all the lessons in the driving booklet within a span of 20 lessons, the average number of lessons!
initially, when i started learning to drive, my goal was not just only passing the test on the first attempt, it was also of trying to minimise the number of lessons so as to save as much money as possible.
and i think i did it with the smooth progress of the lessons so far.
for now, i have yet to attend 3 more revision lessons en route to the test which is on the 6th of july at 9.15am.
i have read the forums and people's replies have made me scared with all the stories of strict and sometimes unfair testers!
well, i have got to try my best with the help of god's grace too.
(fyi, 6th july was the earliest possible date i could find before my birthday and that day happens to be the day when i will be flying off to perth!)
...
these few days, i have a few interesting things that happened to me, but i'm kinda lazy to type out a detailed account of them.
let me start off with them very briefly.
last week on a tuesday, i went out with ABC (can't reveal name) to Giraffe at Istana Park.
i strongly recommend this restaurant/cafe/bar because the alcoholic drinks are damn cheap like about $10-14?
we drank cocktails because i wanted so much to try them ever since i dunno when.
so i ordered pina colada while ABC ordered sex on the beach.
pina colada is more of pineapple and coconut milk while sex on the beach is more of peach and is milder.
so yea, after that, i realised i really have low alcohol tolerance after being woozy and having a pounding headache after just a little more than half a glass!
well, it was really an 'enriching' experience for me!
...
another interesting incident that happened to me was having about 1/4 of my thumb nail broken.
well, it happened when i was so engrossed with turning the steering wheel during i dunno which part of parallel parking.
and so i rammed my thumb against the wheel and it cracked.
blood was oozing out at the cracked area and i felt like screaming, not because it was pain but because it was damn disgusting.
i also didn't want the instructor to know what happened so i just sort of drove one-handedly.
luckily, it was nearing the end of lesson and i was sweating a little.
what a day!
now the nail's not so bad, the crack is widening and i'm leaving it there until the nail drops off on its own.
...
last friday was the day prison break ended its last season (season 4).
i was pretty disappointed that the series had to end but its happy ending somewhat mitigated my feelings.
i will let you on a little information of how i got to become hooked onto the series.
well, i was first introduced to the series by audrey k after she bought pirated copies of prison break seasons 1 and 2.
i watched season 1 first followed by season 2.
it was at that time that i got hooked onto the series because the plots of every episodes was soooo exciting and thrilling!
it also plays on your emotions whereby when the prisoners were almost going to make their escape, you get relieved and feel like applauding them but when they are finally spotted, your heart jumps out and you feel like beating yourself.
season 1 focused on detailing the main lead's (wentworth miller aka michael scofield) genius mind and extremely clever escape plans that nobody would have thought of.
his engineering expertise and background helped him to visualize fox river penitentiary's mazes of pipes, ventilation vents, tunnels etc, helping him in his escape plans.
why he wants to escape, you can find out yourself.
seasons 2 and 3 focused on michael scofield and his inmates' return to prison but this time round, they are placed in sona, a prison in panama.
season 4, the last season, focused more on the outside of the prison walls.
it is also where michael scofield and lincoln burrow's supposedly dead mother is actually a buyer of scylla.
it also reveals the dark secrets between the mother and her 2 'sons', 1 is her son and the other is not really hers.
overall, it's a very great show with witty and clever plots.
thumbs up to the producer and scriptwriter for this series!
i hope to see more of these shows in future.
...
ok today's a rather long entry and i guess it's time to end it off with a goodbye and goodnight!

this is the life!
and i'm enjoying every moment of it!
i've been going for driving lessons, watching tv and playing the psp.
but not forgetting... doing the housework especially mopping because i hate sweeping, a chore which i leave to dad to do.
well, today i did vertical parking and the ramp thingy which is supposed to help you control braking and the speed.
for vertical parking, it seems i have already gotten the hang of it, but what worries me is how am i going to do this kind of parking outside where there are no poles to guide me?
i hope they will teach me that.
as for the ramp, it took me quite some time to get the hang of it because i seem to have no control in my right foot when i press down the accelerator.
you are supposed to gradually press on it until the car inches forward and then having to quickly brake before it hits the pole in front.
and when i'm trying to step on the accelerator, it took me like ages to get the car moving because my foot can't seem to press it down further because i'm trying too hard not to step on the accelerator hard haha.
it's a good thing this ramp thingy has no time limit unlike vertical parking and parallel parking which is 3 minutes and 5 minutes respectively.
fyi, this ramp thingy is required for auto learners and not for manual learners, so yea rejoice if you are learning manual.
but still i should be happy because i'm advancing smoothly and it looks like i'm going to finish up stage 3 pretty soon, maybe in about 2 more lessons.
it was a pretty alright day today partly due to this instructor called simon ching because he explains really well and speaks clearly too.
so next monday, i'm hitting the roads and i hope i get an older car (Honda Civic) because i can control the car better than if i drive a newer car (Honda City).
...
after watching clicknetwork's video on the chick and the dick, i feel like taking on a job at sticky, a sweets shop in the central.
it's awesome seeing them make those sticky, doughy, colourful stuff and mould them into small little sweets.
simply wow!
...
and oh another thing, the woman of the geog dept in nus sent out an email to all geog majors regarding about jobs that are kinda like ambassadors.
and they are concerning the singapore tourism board (stb) and guess what these jobs are going to be?
being sort of an usher or a guide in the apec meeting or being an f1 ambassador for the singapore grand prix!
well, of course i signed up for both because i want to get this experience and also because of the moolah being paid out.
wowwwwwwwwwwwww...
...
ok that's all!

some of you may not know...
but exams are officially overrr for me!!!
no, wait!
'exams' isn't the right word.
it should be, my first year as an undergraduate in nus is officially overrrrrrr!!!
yea yea, way to go!
well, it actually ended like 2 days ago but i didn't feel like blogging here because i was too excited with being able to do the things that i cannot do during the exams.
right now, my main target is to try to finish the driving lessons within 20 lessons and then concentrate on working hard for the license!
not forgetting, being able to find a part-time job!
...
yesterday, i was scared stiff with the disappearance of my msn contacts!
they were like, suddenly gone, all for no reason!
and i think my computer had been infected by a virus though mcafee didn't show that.
so i just added all my contacts one by one and i can only pray nothing happens afterward.
...
sis just told me that prison break has returned!
like finally, after about close to 4 months of absence!
but it's ok, i only missed 3 episodes and right now, i'm embarking on a prison break marathon!
well, sort of...
and there's my psp as well!
and there's the tv!
and there's and there's...
i think i'm gonna be a fat lazy pig (well, i'm already fat...)
yea...

tomorrow's last 2 papers and then freedom comes rushing!
i still have driving lessons to look forward to.
for me, i think getting a driving license matters more to me than being able to find a part-time job during the holidays.
seriously, there are not many jobs that allows a working period of only 1 month.
also, there's a possibility that i might be going to malaysia with my family members in june so this trip will be kind of disruptive to my job.
also, july holidays will be taken up by my perth trip.
so i guess, wahhh, let me see first...
...
sis has been tempting me with new food discoveries over there in perth.
lately, she has been showing off to me food pictures such as huge burgers and authentic american breakfast.
i can't wait to go over there and start gobbling up authentic australian fare!
...
last saturday was a bit of an emotional trauma...
i shan't say it out here...
hahahahahahaha...
my whole family knows...
the whole world is sure to know if you have a gossiper as your mother haha...
ok i am signing off!
i will be back somewhere after the exams.
